Welcome West Bank Members
The West Bank Homeowners Association represents approximately 650 families who live on a full or part time basis along a 17 mile stretch of land on the bank of the Colorado River in California. The area includes approximately 2,200 acres.
This land is the subject of a boundary dispute spanning over 40 years. The U.S. Dept of the Interior and the Colorado River Indian Tribes (CRIT) contend that this stretch of land is included within the CRIT reservation, whereas the State of California and the residents contend that the property on which they reside is located outside and west of the reservation’s legal boundary. The U.S. Supreme court has ruled in favor of California for water rights issued, but has not been requested to make a determination of claims by the U.S. Secretary of the Interior. Tribal sovereign immunity has been key to deferring the courts’ ruling on the boundary.
You and the West Bank Homeowners Association can do collectively what an individual homeowner can’t always do. We encourage all residents to visit this site often to help answer questions and to communicate with us. Feel free to contact us at any time.
